George Sheringham, artist, illustrator, costume and stage designer, was born in 1884 and was educated at Kings School, Gloucester and the Slade School of Art. He first exhibited at the Salon in Paris and subsequently had one-man shows in London as well as exhibiting in Berlin, Ghent, Melbourne, New York and Venice.
